LEVEL 1 TRAINING

Develop the confidence, vocabulary and presence to successfully lead others in a range of beginner meditation techniques and build their own daily meditation practice. Learn how to find and teach greater presence, balance, clarity and expansiveness within yourself through a committed personal meditation practice.

Cost: $575

30 hours total (16 contact hours) and eligible for Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Credits. You will be required to observe group meditation classes, submit written observations, spend time practice-teaching, volunteer and teach a final class to complete the certification.

THIS LEVEL 1 MEDITATION TEACHER TRAINING IS A GOOD FIT FOR YOU IF:

• You are a yoga teacher who is not yet comfortable including meditation as a part of your class

• You are a psychotherapist, health professional or life coach and you would like to introduce meditation into your work with your clients

• You are a teacher or a leader and would like to implement meditation to those who look to you for guidance

• You would like to volunteer and share meditation with communities in need

• You would like to deepen your own understanding of meditation from an experiential point of view and your knowledge of eastern philosophy and Buddhism

You will learn:

• Introduction to meditation from the historic, neuroscience, psychological, and experiential perspectives

• The history of meditation and its ancient origins in Buddhism via the framework of the Four Noble Truths

• The components of living an ethical life

• How to teach beginners simple and accessible meditation techniques that is tailored to their lifestyle and needs

• Knowing your audience and using skillful means with instructions that will resonate with and inspire others

• Practice leading meditations in one-to-one, small group, and audio recorded formats and receive constructive feedback

• Develop the confidence, vocabulary, and presence to successfully lead others in a range of beginner meditation techniques and build their own daily practice

• Find greater presence, balance, clarity, and expansiveness within yourself through a committed personal meditation practice

LEVEL 2 TRAINING:

Dive deep into a further study of eastern philosophy and the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism. Learn to incorporate these teachings not just into your regular practice, but as an integral part of your life.

Cost: $625

16 contact hours, as well as required reading, assignments, and final exam. All coursework must be submitted within 3 months of the first class in order to receive a certificate. Training is open to students who do not seek a certificate as well.

Level 2 training & certificate program

This training is ideal for current meditation practitioners who want to continue studying principles of eastern philosophy, Buddhism and incorporating mindfulness practices as an integral part of their lifestyle. You do not need to have taken Level 1 as long as you have an established meditation practice*.

This training will also include teachings from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, as well as lecture and discussion that support the modern application of these classic ideas. The idea is to take the regular meditation practice further, and use the practice of mindfulness as a lens through which to view the world.

This Level 2 teacher training will prepare you to teach students who are beginner to intermediate level if that is your desired path. In order to take Level 2 training for certification, completion of Level 1 is a prerequisite or demonstrated equivalent course-work or practical experience.
