Budding Buddhas

To bring the best yoga practice to our children, Tovami has teamed up with Susan Fried and Budding Buddhas Children's Yoga. Budding Buddhas Yoga and Mindfulness Programs are designed to give children the best age-appropriate yoga experiences inspiring them to use the techniques they learn in class in their everyday lives. Together we bring many offerings! Please contact us with questions.

Meet Susan Fried

Susan is the owner of Budding Buddhas Children’s Yoga and has been practicing for over 15 years. Prior to teaching yoga, Susan was a Casting Director in film and television.  She worked with children on dozens of projects and taught them how to relax before their audition, how to be in the moment and confident when filming, and how to embrace self-esteem and joy.  Susan believes these lessons can apply to all children.

Susan feels that children of all ages can understand the mind/body connection and she integrates this into her Budding Buddhas Yoga & Mindfulness programs.  She empowers students to take yoga techniques off the mat and into their everyday lives.

Susan received her children’s yoga teaching certification through Karma Kids Yoga in New York City.  She also completed a 200 hr. adult teaching certificate at Yoga Haven in Scarsdale, NY.  Susan’s programs enrich children’s lives in ways she never thought imaginable.

Michelle Ganpat

Michelle is an RYT-500. After leaving corporate America she completed her 300 Hr Yoga training in Rishikesh, India.

She is passionate about the healing benefits of yoga mentally, spiritually and physically.

As a former athlete yoga has helped her heal many injuries that modern medicine could not. Michelle has spent over 10 years as a counselor, coach, mentor for kids and young adults across Westchester County.

She is excited to share, teach, and learn from all her students!

Monique Claassens-Bouckaert

Monique traveled the world for almost 20 years, as a cabin attendant for the Dutch airline KLM. She feels very grateful and fortunate for all the countries she has visited, and all the wonderful and unique people she was able to meet from different cultures and backgrounds. Also, to travel is to take a journey into yourself...and she and her family did!

Summer 2012 they were relocated from the Netherlands to the US, and settled down in Larchmont, NY. Together with her husband Steven, their son Stijn (2002), and their daughter Evy (2004), (now teenagers) she's really enjoying living in Westchester.

Trying to live a healthy, active, and balanced life she was naturally drawn to yoga. She gained her 200hr YTT from Lila Tandava Yoga Teacher Training at Tovami Yoga in Mamaroneck NY, and received her children's yoga teaching certification through Karma Kids Yoga in NYC. She's very enthusiastic about introducing kids of all ages to yoga and mindfulness...with a big smile and lots of positive energy!
