Budding Buddhas is proud to bring a Kids Yoga Teacher Training to Tovami Yoga! The program structure provides space and opportunity for participants to build their knowledge and expertise of bringing yoga and mindfulness to children ages 2 - 7.

Balasana, or Child's Pose, is like an invitation back home! It helps to stretch the hips, thighs, back and ankles while reducing stress and fatigue. It soothes the brain and centers the body, making it an extremely therapeutic posture. Child's Pose is commonly used as a counter-posture for backbends or inversions as it restores balance to the body. Keep reading below for our favorites tips for this shape.

Vinyasa & Restorative Mini - Retreat

This retreat is designed for self-love and self-reflection. We will create a space to pause and to listen, while balancing the body's energy, clearing the mind and opening the heart.
Join us as we honor the wisdom of the body. We will explore both movement and stillness, practicing two complementary styles of yoga. Liz will begin by leading a centering followed by an alignment based, slow flow vinyasa. Allison will follow and transition into a grounding, restorative practice ending with deep relaxation in Yoga Nidra. All postures will be led by breath and are appropriate for the late fall season.
Attendance will be limited to ensure personal attention and maximum guidance.
All levels will be welcomed and nurtured.
Creating A Safe Space : Adjustments Part 1 with Mary Dana Abbott

The most basic skill to cultivate when adjusting is learning how to be and stay grounded.
Tap into your deepest center in order to walk into someone’s personal space with the willingness to listen and
confidence to guide. In this workshop we will lay the foundation work with your own body with strength and
grace when teaching, creating a safe and sacred space for your students.
Creating a safe space is the foundation of adjusting. We work on basic techniques and asanas, and how to approach someone’s individual practice space with confidence and agency. The focus will be primarily on standing poses and forward bends.

The benefits of yoga for kids are many, including increased focus and concentration, heightened body awareness and self-control, increased flexibility and strength. Yoga for kids helps ease stress and build confidence. It encourages children of all ages to create healthy habits for life.
If I could learn one thing each day, it would be how to love myself and others more fully. With yoga, we will all meet there.
Tovami means community - the name can't be found in a dictionary, nor does it have a country of origin, but has been created. A name to mean community, one letter, one idea, one person at a time. We see everyone as unique and special like Yoga. The focus for us is on building this beautiful yoga community, this "Tovami" honoring yoga as an ancient mindfulness art in our welcoming studio.

This month's Featured Yoga Teacher
Like our Yoga Practioners, our Teacher's are fun & have a unique view that shines brightly throughout each of their classes.
Meet our featured teacher for this month - Danielle Radulski (aka: Mantis). We love Danielle because she is smart, fun, and kind. Her kindness shines through her soft step and her ability to hold space in her classes. While she is young in years she is stable and steady and has experienced life, understanding it isn't all easy. We love her because she is herself, in all her ways! Here is a little more insight into this charismatic instructor:
1. Tell us a bit about how you found yoga? I have been practicing for almost 6 years and actually found the practice through a health scare. I needed to start taking better care of my body, and needed to find something that made me want to get up feeling GREAT in the morning. A friend made me take a class one day in NYC, and I never looked back.
2. What can someone expect when coming to your class? A funky blend of strength building shapes and creative vinyasa flows. Lots of unison between breath and movement, all topped off with some gratitude and love <3
3. What’s something about you that no one would expect? I used to have jet black hair and figured skated competitively!
4. If you had to choose- favorite yoga pose? Half moon!
