Back problems and the pain that goes with them are some of the most common physical ailments today! Join us every Monday to learn some simple things that you can do to improve your overall spine health in this integrative yoga class focusing on core health.

Meet us at Mamaroneck Harbor Island this summer for Yoga at the Beach! Sundays at 9:00 AM with Michelle Ganpat and Wednesdays at 6:00 PM with Jillian Tiburzi!
This 75 minute class is an open level, Vinyasa class designed to bring you back into nature and back into yourself through a flowing, yet attainable practice. Expect movement, philosophy, and stillness. We will take time to meditate.

balancing the Meridians: a workshop of acupuncture and yoga
sunday | june 2 | 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
There is a saying in Chinese Medicine, where there is flow there is no pain, where there is no flow there is pain.
In this workshop, we will use the movements (vinyasa) and breath (pranayama) of yoga to promote a smooth flow of energy throughout the meridians. Once the body and mind are more open and receptive we will move into restorative postures and use acupuncture to continue encouraging the energy to flow and facilitate an even greater state of relaxation. We are planning to use acupuncture needles so if you have any questions or concerns ahead of time please reach out. Everyone is welcome!
Yuuki is a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist and certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He also completed a 500 Hour yoga teacher training with ISHTA Yoga and is influenced by the breath pratices of Krishnamachariya. With his insights on anatomy, body mechanics, meditation, the breath, and the energy that weaves all it together, Yuuki creates an environment of inquiry, healing and growth for his students.

Join us for a Sunday evening “Feast for the Senses.” Be cradled in blankets, surrounded by candlelight, listen to healing vibrational sounds, and breathe in clarifying scents.
The gentle restorative/yin Kripalu practice led by Allison aligns well with the supportive harmonic sounds provided by Aiden. Therapeutic use of sound moves the mind and illuminates the heart. Experience the healing power of yoga paired with the sound of gong, singing bowls and more.
Sound can help us move from feeling imbalanced in our lives to a place of stillness, balance, depth, and peace.
All levels are welcome and nourished. Attendance will be limited.

Budding Buddhas Yoga & Mindfulness - For all ages
The benefits of yoga for kids are many, including increased focus and concentration, heightened body awareness and self-control, increased flexibility and strength. Yoga for kids helps ease stress and build confidence. It encourages children of all ages to create healthy habits for life.
If I could learn one thing each day, it would be how to love myself and others more fully. With yoga, we will all meet there.
Tovami means community - the name can't be found in a dictionary, nor does it have a country of origin, but has been created. A name to mean community, one letter, one idea, one person at a time. We see everyone as unique and special like Yoga. The focus for us is on building this beautiful yoga community, this "Tovami" honoring yoga as an ancient mindfulness art in our welcoming studio.
Tovami Yoga begins its Yoga Alliance registered and approved 200-hour teacher certification program September 14, 2019.
Our Alignment Based Hatha Yoga Vinyasa Program offers a variety of Westchester's long-time expert instructors/teachers, handpicked for their knowledge, compassion and ability to inspire. You will receive one-on-one instruction to equip yourself for your personal yoga journey, whether it be cultivating self-knowledge or an inspiring career as a teacher. This month's Featured Yoga Teacher
Like our Yoga PractiTIoners, our Teacher's are fun & have a unique view that shines brightly throughout each of their classes.
Faith has practiced yoga for years, but was sidelined by injury more than once. When she came back this time she was determined to stay safe in her practice and to commit to a lifetime practice. That commitment lead her to become a teacher with a special interest in spinal health. Always an anatomy buff, she created Yoga for a Healthy Back, combining Asana and Pranayama with Myofascial Release techniques. Faith is committed to making yoga accessible to all by leading her students through a safe, whole yoga practice, with proper modifications, and an emphasis on proper alignment. We are so fortunate to have Faith as part of the Tovami community to bring her knowledge and passion to all our students!
Q: Tell us a bit about how you found yoga?
A: I went to my first yoga class in the weeks following 9/11. A friend who had lost several of her friends in the disaster invited me to join her in a class. She needed yoga and I went along for support. I was instantly hooked. The athleticism of it, combined with the mental aspect and the spirituality, is a magic combination. Unfortunately, the class I was going to was in a large gym with many, many students and only one teacher. I kept injuring myself. After taking a break from it, I came back to yoga determined to keep myself safe in the practice (and now my students in theirs!). I saw teacher training as a way to deepen my practice, my understanding and my resolve to practice forever.
Q: What can someone expect when coming to your class?
A: Yoga for a Healthy Back focuses on keeping our spines healthy. Without that, our overall physical health is compromised. In the context of a traditional yoga class, we explore movement, mobility, myofascial release and deep tissue release. In short, we target parts of the body that are misused, overused or downright abused! Yoga is the fountain of the youth and this class is designed to optimize the benefits of yoga specifically as it relates to our spines. A healthy spine needs to include movement and core strength.
Q: What’s something about you that no one would expect?
A: I’m a yoga teacher! No seriously. People who’ve known me forever are surprised. Those who know me closely know I’m terrified of birds! Which is kind of crazy given that I’m pretty fearless. I walked with and petted wild lions in Zimbabwe.
Q: If you had to choose- favorite yoga pose?
A: Tadasana (Mountain Pose). It seems so simple and is rarely taught as a true pose, but as more of a throwaway, “take a few breaths in Tadasana.” But there is so much going on in that one seemingly simple pose. I could spend 10 minutes or more teaching that single pose. It’s a foundational pose for all standing poses. And of course, it is the pose of good posture, which is key to a healthy back!
Q: Favorite song?
A: Hair by the Cowsills! So much fun and so funny. Takes you back to “the day.” But really, It’s a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong. I see skies of blue and clouds of white…..
