Happy 2019! Start your year off with our detoxing #TovamiPose of the week - easy seated twist!

Parivrtta Sukhasana (a mouthful!) is the perfect pose for clearing out any residual blockages before the start of the new year. This posture stimulates the abdominal organs and encourages release in the spine. Join us in practicing this cleansing posture with the tips below. As usual, listen to your body and take any modifications that you need.

  • With each inhale, lengthen your spine, and with each exhale, deepen your twist.

  • Visualize that the twist is originating from your abdomen. Slightly engage your obliques to deepen your twists.

  • Relax your shoulders or any body parts that might tense up.

  • Bring your gaze to rest over your shoulder or if that bothers your neck, allow it to rest in a neutral position.
