This week’s #TovamiPose is Reclining Bound Angle Pose, also known as Supta Baddha Konasana!

The best thing about this pose is that there are so many variations! We’ve listed our favorite tips below for getting into this comfy pose.

  • Try it with a bolster supporting your torso on a slight incline, as depicted here, or take a simpler variation by lying flat on the mat.

  • If you experience a lot of tension in your inner thighs, place blocks underneath the outside of your knees for additional support. You can even add blankets for additional softness.

  • Allow your palms to face up and your shoulders to melt into the support to receive or turn your palms to face the Earth for additional grounding.

  • If you’re looking for something a little more active, see if you can draw your knees closer to the ground with each exhale for a deepening of the stretch.

Always listen to your body and find the best variation for you.
